The PROMISE Consortium Governance Committee provides strategic oversight and leadership, ensuring transparency, accountability, and effective coordination across all partner institutions.

Roles And Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic guidance and overall direction for the consortium
  • Review and approve annual work plans and budgets
  • Monitor and evaluate project progress against objectives
  • Ensure compliance with project requirements and donor commitments
  • Align activities with country priorities, SDGs, and funder strategies
  • Facilitate coordination between partners, advisors, and external board
  • Resolve disputes and make strategic decisions impacting the consortium
  • Advocate for integration of tools and findings into policies and frameworks
  • Approve new membership applications
  • Oversee resource mobilization and sustainability planning

Meeting Schedule

  • Quarterly virtual meetings (2 hours)
  • Annual in-person strategic planning meeting (2-3 days)
  • Ad-hoc meetings as needed for urgent decisions

Decision-Making

  • Consensus preferred; two-thirds majority vote when needed
  • Quorum: 50% + 1 member
  • Chair facilitates meetings and ensures all voices heard
  • Minutes and action items circulated within one week

Secretariat

Hosted by Makerere University School of Public Health, the Secretariat provides day-to-day coordination and administrative support for the consortium.
